(Doctor Edward Jenner 1749 - 1823)
Original steel engraving from the bronze sculpture by William Calder Marshall (Edinburgh 1813 – London 1894) appeared in 1859 on the famous English Art Periodical “The Art Journal” published in London by Virtue & Co. from the thirties of the nineteenth century to the early twentieth century.
Very nice example in perfect general condition.
Edward Jenner was a very important doctor and surgeon considered a pioneer in vaccination research against smallpox.

William Calder Marshall sculpted the monument in 1858, it was unveiled by Prince Albert in Trafalgar Square and in 1862 was moved to Kensington Gardens.
